Is the treatment painful?

Botox is administered with an extremely small needle, resulting in minimal pain. You may only feel a little pinch. Topical anaesthesia can be applied to numb the area. Injections are very quick and with a trained medical professional, you may not even notice when they happen.

Please note, results will not be immediate. You will begin to notice results within around 2-6 days however, optimal results will be visible within 14 days. We offer a complimentary review 14 days after your treatment where we will assess your results and provide a top up if required. Your complimentary top up is only valid 14 - 21 days after your initial treatment. If you do not have a review within this period you will not be eligible for a top up.

Anti-Wrinkle Injections

Botulinum toxin is a naturally produced protein used to temporarily relax muscles.

The Botox injection treatment works by blocking the nerve signals to the affected muscles around the injection site. The most common use of these injections is to temporarily relax the facial muscles that cause wrinkles around the eyes and in the forehead.

How long do the results last?

Botulinum Toxin injections last around 12-16 weeks, depending on the kind of wrinkle, your skin, age and lifestyle. After this period the body begins to break down the injected Botox. Some clients find they have results remaining longer. For best results, this treatment will need to be repeated on a 12-16 week basis to maintain the results.

Dermal Fillers

How do they work?

Dermal fillers work by boosting the skin’s supply of hyaluronic acid, dermal fillers revitalise and add volume to the skin, instantly diminishing the appearance of lines and wrinkles, and giving a natural, softer, youthful look. Dermal fillers are a soft injectable gel consisting of stabilized, non-animal hyaluronic acid. The gel is tissue-friendly and closely resembles the hyaluronic acid that exists naturally in the body. It is long-lasting but not permanent.

Dermal filler injections provide an easy way to restore lost volume, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, smooth the skin and give a more youthful appearance. The result of a single treatment can be seen instantly and can last for around 6 to 9 months. Dermal filler injections can give a natural looking result that does not affect facial expression. As your face changes over time, dermal fillers allow you to control you looks subtly as you age.

At AbbieJaine Aesthetics, we offer a wide range of Dermal filler treatments including:

- Lip Augmentation - Instantly fuller lips with dermal fillers.

Some of us naturally don’t have the volume we hope for in our lips. Perhaps you’ve noticed one or more of the following with your lips; Thin lip volume – lips look don’t look as full or as plump as you’d like.

Flat or poorly pronounced shape to your lips – particularly noticeable with a less defined shape to your Cupid’s bow.

A poorly defined border (known as the Vermillion Border) to the outside of the lips. Flat or poorly shaped ridge between the upper lips and the nose – known as the Philtrum Ridge Dermal fillers can be injected to enhance volume, projection and border definition giving you a fuller/plumper look.

- Cheek fillers - Raise the volume of the area above and around your cheekbones.

This provides the illusion of a more defined bone structure. By injecting volume under your skin layer, cheek fillers can also smooth out wrinkles and fine lines.

- Chin - Dermal Filler can be used on the chin to stiffen the skin and define the chin and jowl area, lessening the weakness of a weak chin.

Chin filler can lengthen and enhance the lower facial appearance creating a more balanced side profile.

- Nasolabial folds - The nasolabial fold is the crease that starts from the corner of the nose and runs diagonally down to the corner of the mouth. During the ageing process, the fold becomes deeper and forms a shadow that can make the face look tired. Nasolabial folds can be treated using dermal filler to smooth the fold and reduce the shadow. When using dermal fillers, we have two key approaches to treating the nasolabial folds. The first approach is to lift dropping cheeks by injecting filler along the cheekbone; this helps to lift the heavy skin that forms the nasolabial fold. The second approach is to inject dermal filler directly into the nasolabial fold; this helps to reduce the depth of the fold and give an instantly smoother appearance to the area.

- Marionette lines - are long vertical wrinkles from the corners of the lips to the chin. These creases could give a sad look to the face. These lines occur with age, smoking and genetics and can progress to form jowls later on.

It is possible to lift these corners with dermal filler by adding volume and anchoring the corners higher up.

- Facial contouring - Non-surgical facial contouring normally involves 2+ syringes of filler injected into various areas of the face.

The most common areas to be injected are:

Cheeks – to create definition, provide a 'lift' and restore the cheekbone prominence

Jaw – to create a stronger and more defined jawline

Chin – to soften jowls and improve proportions in the lower face including correcting for side profile appearances

Temple – to restore smooth contours and create balance in the upper face

Lips – to create that fuller/plumper 'pout'!

Hand Rejuvenation - Apart from the face and neck area, the hands are the most exposed area of the body. Dermal fillers injected superficially in to the dermal layer of the skin at multiple points can restore the volume of lost tissue and reduce the appearance of veins, tendons and bony structures. Fillers here can add a youthfulness to the hands- one of the major give-aways to ones true age, and can last as long as 2 years. Best part, the procedure is virtually painless!

PRP - Platelet Rich Plasma (New)

PRP treatment is a 3 step procedure that involves having your blood drawn from your arm, the blood is then spun in a centrifuge to seperate the platelet rich plasma from the red blood cells. The PRP is then injected back in to your area of concern.PRP contains nutrients, vitamins, hormones, electrolytes and many proteins such as albumin, immunoglobulins and clotting factors.

PRP stimulates collagen and elastin production. It's a great treatment for improving skin texture and tone:

- reduces fine lines and wrinkles

- reduces dark circles and skin texture under the eyes

- improves acne/scarring

- improves pigmentation

- improves rosacea

PRP - Hair

Research has shown that PRP is a reliable hair loss treatment for those with hair thinning, male/female pattern hair loss. PRP encourages hair growth when injected in to the area of concern.

For optimum results, a course of 3 treatments with an interval of 4-6 weeks is recommended. Followed by a yearly maintenance treatment.

Results are generally visible after 8 weeks

PRP injections following a hair transplant is highly beneficial. Not only does the PRP strengthen and improve the survival of new follicles, encouraging hair growth. It also plays a role in speeding up the the healing process of the hair transplant procedure, whilst minimising the risk of infection.
